My Kind Of Town

This evening Owner and i ventured up western Europe's tallest building - The Shard. Located just a few miles from where we live in one of the world's greatest cities the building offers some fantastic (albeit expensive) views across town. It was quite a big deal for me going up as ever since it opened to the public a few months ago i have wanted to visit but i am also terrified of heights. However, i need not have feared. My vertigo was nowhere to be found as we ascended the double set of lifts to the 69th floor and then climbed up the stairs to the exposed 72nd floor. Was it worth it? Well we think it was. The organisation still needs a little sorting out but the views are quite simply stunning, as too is the architecture, as you can see:

Afterwards it was back home for a meal and drinks at our favourite local restaurant:
Apologies if the above all seems a little off topic, but....heck...it is a great building and it was a great end to a day.

Looks impressive Mistreses and i love coming up to London we shall have to give it a go next time we are visiting . Mistress and i normally come up a couple of times a year to have a play in the London Dungeon run by the dungeon keeper Ian which i can recomend, we then like to see the sights staying in a hotel in the west end

I agree, it looks impressive. Is it very expensive?
And what's the strange glass/jug you are holding? It looks as if it can be closed with a screw-on lid...

Hi Tamara - it's £25 per person if bought in advance on-line (which is what we did). The views are stunning but there are no other real facilities open yet, other than the ubiquitous shop, feels a bit was opened before they were ready. Yes the glass is strange and neither i nor Owner have ever seen one like it before. Think it might be an up-cycled jam jar. Is in our favourite local restaurant/bar which is quite a quirky place so suits it well.

Mistress Marie - my apologies i had not put two and two together before but now have.
