Someone Knocking At The Door, Somebody Ringing The Bell

Owner regularly has parcels/packages delivered to Her flat comprising items She has ordered online. Depending on the courier used it is often the same person that turns up at our door and rings the bell to drop off the item. They have got to know me and appear not the least bit surprised when they are greeted by me wearing my domestic smock (if it is in the evening) or a short skirt and stockings and blouse if the daytime. One even regularly comments on my nail polish, chiding me if i am not wearing something bright and pretty.

These days, however, delivery companies have also taken to requiring that their couriers take pictures of the drop-off to prove that the package was delivered. As a consequence, it is now more common for Owner to receive images like this:

The above picture is me as photographed taking delivery of a package for Owner to show proof of delivery. As can be seen i am wearing my domestic smock with the lanyard of my 'permission to speak' badge around my neck and my bright pink nails on view.

So what? i hear you say.

Well, fast forward to Tuesday this week. The doorbell rang a little after 9am and i trotted downstairs in my working from home attire (micro skirt, fishnet stockings, blouse, pink nails and fluffy booty slippers etc) and opened the door. This time it was the post woman. She immediately thrust 4 parcels towards me. i opened the door fully so that i might take them from her and clutched the packages to my chest. The next instant her phone came out and she snapped what i could immediately tell was a full-length picture of me stood in the door way, delivery clasped to my bossom in my little skirt and fishnets.

The packages were from my Mum, Christmas presents. Well, i guess she would have received her own Christmas surprise when she got her delivery notification sent through to her, a picture of me, her son, in a very fetching little outfit :)

i was telling Owner what happened when She advised me that on one occasion, when I had not been at home and She had needed to receive a delivery Herself, the courier has apparently asked Her 'where was the other lady, the one with the nails that normally receives packages'. She meant me. How we both laughed.

a different day, more pink nails
Anyway, the moral of all of this is remember to always look at your tarty best if you want to make an impression with friends and loved ones. Now, when will that google street view vehicle next be passing by? :)

I always try to look my best but I have to say that we don't receive quite the customer service here in the US. Our couriers simply leave the package in front of our relatively secluded front door. They don't even ring the doorbell! I'll just have to find a way to show off my pretty nails!
